Overview[]
The AK-47 is a select-fire, gas-operated, thirty round magazine assault that was designed from 1944 to 1946 by Mikhail Kalashnikov and manufactured from 1947 to present by Izhmash. The AK-47 saw a large amount of service during the Vietnam War. It was used extensively by nations that were members of the Warsaw Pact. It has been the most produced assault rifle from Russia, as 75 million were made, with 100 million variants being made. Today, it is still in use with the Russian Armed Forces and many other countries, including China, Korea, and many Central American and Middle East countries.
In the Outpost (film), the AK-47 serves as the primary weapon for Taktarov, Cotter, and Voyteche.
